At Nimbin Valley Dairy, we’re more than cheesemakers—we’re custodians of a legacy spanning five generations of dairy farming. Nestled on a ridge overlooking the Nimbin valley, our family farm produces cow and goat milk products, crafted with care and tradition.
Inspired by regenerative farming methods from our forebears and traditional cheesemaking techniques of France and Italy, we honor our heritage while ensuring every product is wholesome and sustainable.
Our products are simple: pure, honest ingredients with nothing added and nothing to hide. No unpronounceable additives, no mysterious numbers—just the authentic flavors and simple pleasures our family has cherished for generations. And we’re proud to share them with you.
Our Region
We are privileged to call the traditional lands of the Bundjalung people our home. In the late 1800s, European settlers arrived, drawn by the rich volcanic soil to harvest timber and establish dairy farms and banana plantations.
In 1973, Nimbin became the heart of a cultural shift during the iconic Aquarius Festival. What started as a ten-day celebration of art, music, and alternative living sparked a lasting transformation. Many festival-goers stayed, embracing a lifestyle rooted in sustainability, community, resilience, and simplicity.
This spirit continues to thrive today, fueling a vibrant local economy of small-scale food producers, farm-to-table restaurants, cozy cafes, cooperatives, roadside stalls, and bustling markets. Here, some of Australia’s finest, freshest, and most natural produce is celebrated, all nurtured through a commitment to quality and sustainability.
Our Animals
Our goats and cows spend their days grazing freely across 120 hectares of lush, fertile pastures. Their wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do—we wouldn’t feed them anything we wouldn’t eat ourselves. Their diet is carefully balanced with the right mix of protein, energy, minerals, and vitamins, ensuring they produce the richest, most flavorful milk for cheesemaking.
Kerry and crew tend to the herd with regular health checks and personal attention. If a sick animal requires assistance, they are rested from the milking herd until fully recovered, keeping our milk and cheeses free from chemicals, hormones, and antibiotics.
